1.  Overview

Tutoring By Layla offers private tutoring to students in the subject Mathematics. There is a possibility expand to science in the future.

 

Tutoring is offered to students from age 6 to 16, supporting students in developing their mathematic skills from primary school to GCSE.

 

Lessons will be tailored to meet the needs of the student, taking into account what they expect to gain from the tuition, including homework help.

2.  Students

Prior to accepting new students, we must have a 30-minute introductory session. This is a great way for the student and I to meet, to understand their needs and to plan a way forward. I encourage all parents to also join the session.

All students will need to be fluent in English, as all lessons are taught in English.

​

3.  Lessons

Lessons can either take place face-to-face or via zoom depending on availability. If requested, students can have a mixture of virtual and face-to-face lessons.

All face-to-face lessons will take place at the student’s home. Students home must be no further than 5 miles from SW16, unless I have agreed otherwise.

​

Students have full control of the lesson structure and can decide which topics to learn/go over each lesson – if required, students can be set homework to be submitted to the next lesson.

​

Lessons are offered as 60minute slots. Multiple slots can be booked to increase the length of the lesson

 

Group classes are available on a weekly basis with a pre-planned topic. These group classes are open to all students. I encourage all students to have a free introductory session prior to joining the group classes, but this is not mandatory.

4. Bookings

 

Bookings must be made at least 12 hours before the start time of the first lesson. 

​

Students must ensure they have given enough information to allow the lesson to take place. If a lesson is to take place at the Student’s home, the Student must provide a suitable setting for tuition. 

​

Bookings can be cancelled and rescheduled without incurring any charge, by giving more than 24 hours’ notice. Bookings cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the lesson taking place, will be subject to a £10 late cancellation/rescheduling fee.

​

Bookings cannot be cancelled after the lesson has started. 

​

Lesson prices are subject to increase (or decrease) subject to national inflation. You will be given 30 days notice of all price changes.

5. Payments & Refunds

 

To confirm a booking, full payment is required online. Payments can be made via card or PayPal only.

​

Late payments (defined as payments received after the lesson has taken place will be subject to a £7.50 late payment fee). If you have two or more late payment fees, then no further lessons can be booked until the balance has cleared.

​

In the event of TutoringbyLayla cancelling a booking, a reschedule or a full refund will be offered.

 

Bookings cancelled by a student less than 12 hours will not be due a refund however they may reschedule for a later date.

6. Privacy 

TutoringbyLayla is committed to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our website and those who access or services. 

 

When you visit the Website or purchase a lesson through the Website, you may be asked to provide information about yourself including your name, address, and contact details.

 

We may ask for your payment information, such as debit or credit card details. All payment card information is handled by a third party. We do not handle any payment card information ourselves.

 

Your information will enable us to provide you with access to the relevant parts of the Website and to supply the services you have requested.
